Privacy Policy

This website is run by Shin (“we”, “us”). Shin is a daily ritual app for couples. It isn’t out yet, so for now this policy covers this website (getshinapp.world) and its waitlist. Short version: if you join the waitlist we keep your email address and a few details about how you found us, so we can tell you when Shin launches. That’s it.

We’ll update this policy to cover the Shin app itself before it launches.

What we collect when you join the waitlist

• Your email address, so we can tell you when Shin is ready.
• Your country (for example “DE”), worked out by our hosting provider from your connection at the moment you sign up. We store the country code, not your IP address.
• How you found us: the website that linked you here and any campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters), if there were any.
• The date and time you signed up.

What we don’t collect

There are no accounts, passwords or payments on this website, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. We don’t store your IP address. We don’t sell or rent your personal information.

Keeping bots out

The waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It looks at signals from your browser and connection to do that. Your IP address is used briefly for this check and to limit repeated sign-up attempts, but we don’t keep it.

Counting visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It doesn’t use cookies, and it doesn’t track you across other websites.

AI in the Shin app

This website doesn’t send anything to an AI service. The Shin app, once it launches, will use AI for a few features. Here is how that will work.

What AI may process, only to create the feature you’re using:

• Answers that both partners have already opened, for Weekly Insights and Relationship Analysis.
• Your onboarding answers and past opened answers, to pick Smart Questions for you two.
• Your guesses in Heart Sync, to describe how in tune you were that week.
• What each of you writes in Conflict Repair, to find common ground and suggest ways to talk.
• Text you send, checked for risky language so we can point you to support resources if needed.

What AI never processes: notes in the Manifest Jar, and answers that are still sealed.

Who sees the results: insights about the two of you are shared with both of you. Anything about you privately is never shown to your partner unless you choose to share it.

Our AI provider: AI features run on Claude, provided by Anthropic, which processes this data on our behalf to generate the response. Your data is not used to train AI models, ours or Anthropic’s.

Not advice: AI insights are a way to talk about your relationship. They aren’t therapy, and they aren’t medical or mental-health advice.

Who processes your data

This website, the waitlist database, the bot check and the visit counts all run on Cloudflare. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, under Cloudflare’s data protection commitments. We don’t share your waitlist details with anyone else. Once the app launches, Anthropic will also process the app data described above to power its AI features.

Why we’re allowed to use it

We use your email because you asked us to when you joined the waitlist (your consent). We use connection signals for bot protection and visit counts because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the waitlist free of spam and understanding how the site is used.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it for the waitlist and the launch announcement. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or KVKK in Türkiye), you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Just email hello@getshinapp.world from the address you signed up with. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Age

Shin and its waitlist are for adults aged 18 and over, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has signed up, let us know and we’ll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters for how we use your email, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
